Do you ever wonder how to see how ethical your favorite brands are? Or maybe do you need a one-stop shop for all things ethical clothing? We have a solution for you!
With Good On You App, you can get access to information for more than 2,000 fashion brands rated on how they treat people, the planet and animals.
When the Rana Plaza Factory in Bangladesh collapsed in April 2013, killing 1,134 garment workers, it brought into sharp focus how much our addiction to cheap, fast fashion was wreaking havoc on the lives of the people who made our clothes, and the planet.
That was the year we started talking to people who wanted to make ‘better’ choices with their clothes – but didn’t know how. They told us it was too hard to find information about how a brand performed on the issues they cared about. They wanted to be able to cut through the noise and spin and find out the real impact of fashion brands. So we began building tools to bring this information together in one place in ways that people could easily use.
We developed the first incarnation of our brand ratings system in 2015. In November of that year, we launched the Good On You app in Australia on the back of a successful crowdfunding campaign. Within eight days over 10,000 people had downloaded the app, and we knew we had created a tool that people wanted and needed. In March 2017, we launched in the United States and Canada, expanding to Europe in June 2018.
More than 175,000 people have now downloaded our app, with our community continuing to grow each week.
The app has a user-friendly platform to search your favorite brands, find new ones, and to learn more about the issues surrounding fast fashion.
Not only can you look at that, but you can also follow their blog where you can read more about ethical fashion in a current events setting.
If you want to continue to update yourselves on the newest and most ethical clothing and accessories brand, Good On You will work great for you!
